Na het succes van Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely heart Club Band en de wereldwijde satelliet
uitzending van All You Need Is Love begonnen The Beatles in 1967 aan hun derde film:
Magical Mystery Tour is het verhaal van een busreis naar de kust. Slechts eenmalig op
TV uitgezonden en al lang niet meer officieel leverbaar op welke drager dan ook is Magical
Mystery Tour vanaf 8 oktober geheel gerestaureerd verkrijgbaar op DVD en
Blu-ray met een naar 5.1 Surround geremixte soundtrack.
De film bevat zes, toen gloednieuwe Beatles songs: Magical Mystery Tour, The Fool On
The Hill, I Am The Walrus, Flying, Blue Jay Way en Your Mother Should Know. Tal van
extra’s zijn aanwezig zoals nieuwe edits van drie tracks met nog nooit
eerder vertoond materiaal. Ook de Top Of The Pops video van Hello Goodbye is er aan
toegevoegd.
Tevens is een Deluxe Edition boxset op 10 inch formaat verkrijgbaar met daarin de DVD
en Blu-ray, een 60 pagina’s tellend boek met unieke foto’s, informatie en documentatie
plus een getrouwe reproductie van de originele dubbel vinyl single uit 1967 met daarop
de zes nieuwe Beatles songs in mono.
